Professor Layton “Puzzle Master” Akira Toga has passed away

The man who was proclaimed as “Puzzle Master” behind Level-5’s Professor Layton series has passed away. Akira Tago in life was a psychologist and professor who passed away this week at the ripe old age of 90, his death has been attributed to intestinal pneumonia.

Tago was the inspiration behind the Professor Layton games thanks to his book Atama no Taisou / Head Gymnastics which went on to become quite popular.
