Titanfall – Expedition DLC – Runoff map images and details

I covered the announcement of the Titanfall DLC a few weeks back when it was anounced but now Respawn designer Geoff Smith has shared new images and details for the Runoff map included in Titanfall’s Expedition DLC over on the game’s official blog. Here are the map images below and some official details.

Was originally sketched out about a year ago
– Was cut from the main game due to time constraints
– After the main game was done and DLC was being talked about, Smith revisited Runoff to see if it’d play well
– Runoff was an experiment to try and make a small map but still allow Titans enough pathing options so that they don’t feel constrained or limited
– Multiple layers of paths
– Concrete canals filled with water and trash below, and upper levels that are cleaner and more industrial
– Smith thought canals would be cool for Titans to fight in, with Pilots able to jump across them
– Smith also set out to make more choke points in the level
– 3 main buildings in Runoff
– Largest building is the main building housing two large inlet tubes in the center of it
– The others are all connected with sky-bridges and running billboards
– The trench below these buildings is the central artery of the entire map
– If your Titan falls down into these trenches, you will have to travel back to either end of the map to find a ramp back up
– Can escape quickly through the trenches
– In CTF, the flag bases are located at either end of the main trench path
– As a pilot you can use this trench to move between flags very quickly
– In Hardpoint, B is the only point which can be captured directly by a Titan but both A and C allow a Titan to see and shoot into them–have your auto Titan provide cover while you capture
– Plays differently in each game mode

This map sounds pretty cool and pretty fun, I think fans of Titanfall will enjoy their time with this game particularly with the new map which is set to look pretty fun so I suggest you keep an eye out for its release.
