As if we didn’t have enough Fortnite news lately following the KPop Demon Hunters collaboration that just dropped, we’ve got more already! Leaks earlier in the year suggested that the Scooby-Doo gang would be making their way to Fortnite for Halloween, and we just had our first piece of evidence to suggest this is true. You better start saving up your V-Bucks now, because the mystery machine and those meddling kids surely won’t come cheap!
First spotted by Fortnite leaker iFireMonkey, a new quest was added for the LEGO Fortnite game mode that will trigger during the Fortnitemares season, Fortnite‘s annual Halloween-themed event. The quest reads “Find Velma”, with the following quest being named “Mystery Revealed”. There’s only one name in spooky history this could relate to, being the iconic glasses-wearing Velma from Scooby-Doo. The second quest featuring the word ‘Mystery’ could also relate to the franchise, with both the legendary Mystery Machine vehicle and ‘Mystery Incorporated’ being another essential part of the Scooby-Doo brand.
Fortnite are no stranger to collaborating with cartoons, with past collaborations such as Futurama showcasing just how well Epic Games are able to capture animated characters in the 3D space. It would be surprising to see the Scooby-Doo gang using guns, but after the inclusion of Adventure Time and The Incredibles then anything seems possible on the Fortnite island.
