Here’s What You Might Have Missed During The Pokemon Presents Event

As is fitting for an event celebrating Pokemon Day, the anniversary of the beloved series, the February 27 Pokemon Presents video event was absolutely packed with news and announcements. Most exciting of all was the reveal of brand-new DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as well as Pokemon Sleep, a sleep-tracking app that will also connect with Pokemon Go by way of a separately sold accessory.

However, those were far from the only pieces of news shared during the approximately 30 minute-long broadcast. Here are a few other announcements that you might have missed!

Pokemon World Championship Happening in August

This year’s Pokemon World Championship event will be held in Yokohama – the first time that Japan has been chosen as the event’s location. It will include competitions in Pokemon Go, Pokemon Trading Card Game, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and more. The 2023 World Championship will run from August 11 to August 13. More information will likely be revealed at a later date.

Trading Card Game Receiving New Classic Edition

Pokemon Trading Card Game Classic, a new box set of the trading card game featuring fan-favorite Pokemon, will be released at a later date. The set consists of three pre-built decks centered around Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur, a deluxe storage box, a foldable fabric game board, damage and status tokens, card sleeves, and three deck boxes with water, fire, and grass themes. A preview of the item is currently scheduled to be held during the World Championship event in August.

Pokemon Concierge Coming to Netflix

Pokemon and Netflix are teaming up for the first time ever to produce the brand-new stop-motion animated series, Pokemon Concierge. The show will focus on Haru, a human concierge at a Pokemon resort who meets a variety of interesting Pokemon and works to ensure that each of them has the best vacation ever. A brief teaser, featuring Haru alongside a Psyduck, was shown during the Pokemon Presents event.

Zacian Joins Pokemon Unite

Zacian, one of the legendary duo from Pokemon Sword and Shield, makes its way to Pokemon Unite as part of the new “Adventure in Zacian’s Weald” event. Players who participate in this event can complete various missions to earn rewards including Zacian’s Unite License and a special outfit for Zacian – featuring an adorable top hat! Zacian will come with the Unite Move Sovereign Sword, a powerful attack that strikes multiple enemies at once. In addition, Unite players can enter the code POKEMONDAY to receive a bonus boost item for Zacian.

Paldea Starters Arrive in Pokemon Cafe Remix

A new event celebrating Pokemon Day is kicking off in Pokemon Cafe Remix, bringing with it the arrival of Paldea’s Starter Pokemon: Fuecoco, Sprigatito, and Quaxly. Players who complete the event will be able to choose one of these three Pokemon to join their team. In addition, a special Great Chef outfit for Greninja will be given away to all players as part of the Pokemon Day celebration. Plus, several Five-Star Chefs previously introduced to the game will be making their return for a limited time, and players can claim 11 free express deliveries simply by logging in. Finally, there’s adorable new Paldea-inspired dishes to cook, featuring the images of Lechonk, Wiglett, and other Pokemon!

Neo Champions Do Battle in Pokemon Masters

Pokemon Masters will be celebrating Pokemon Day with an ongoing event themed around the many Champions from throughout the series, including Cynthia, Lance, Alder, Iris, Diantha, and Steven. Plus, “Neo Champion” versions of the rivals from Pokemon Sword and Shield will be making their debut in the game. Neo Champion Hop is paired with Galarian Zapdos, Neo Champion Bede with Galarian Articuno, and Neo Champion Marnie with Galarian Moltres. Plus, a Champion Leon alongside a Charizard with max moves unlocked will also be appearing. Log in to Pokemon Masters to claim all sorts of bonus currency and other items as well as a chance to encounter these powerful Neo Champions!

These are just a handful of the many announcements made during the Pokemon Presents event.
