Destiny 2: Lightfall Soundtrack Available Early On Streaming

Anticipation is high for Destiny 2‘s upcoming Lightfall expansion launching tomorrow on Feb. 28. In anticipation of The Witness’ arrival into the world of Destiny 2, the soundtrack of the Lightfall expansion has been uploaded early onto music streaming services. The full album is 38 tracks in total, a whopping 2 hours and 17 minutes of epic sci-fi tunes. The first track, Lightfall is the main theme of the expansion, and a promising start to the soundtrack. Be warned if you plan on checking it out, song titles may include spoilers or potentially hint at plot points.

A new Developer Insights into the music of Destiny 2: Lightfall has also been released on YouTube. The video goes into detail on exactly how the music was created in Destiny 2: Lightfall, described by Bungie as being an “ambitious soundtrack”. The Developer Insight sheds light on the “80s inspired feel” main theme which appears throughout the score, and how it represents the Traveler’s Guardians and Neomuna’s Cloud Striders working as a team. The music was made with a “striping” process, recording individual sections of an orchestra together and then merging them in a cohesive way digitally.

The game’s soundtrack is also being made available as a digital download purchase from the Bungie Store. Purchasing from the Bungie Store grants the player a “Radiant Reivelle” emblem code with the purchase, which gives the player a colorful, music-inspired emblem that can be used in-game. The digital soundtrack included with the collector’s edition of Destiny 2: Lightfall seemingly does not contain the emblem, even though you have the digital soundtrack as part of your purchase.

Destiny 2: Lightfall lands tomorrow at 9AM PST, after a prolonged downtime starting earlier today. Will you be playing the new Destiny 2 expansion? Let us know in the comments below, and keep your eyes on GameLuster for more gaming news and Destiny 2: Lightfall coverage.
