Octopath Traveler 2 Battle Tested Spear

Obtaining the Battle-Tested Weapons in Octopath Traveler 2 can be challenging, but we have provided a guide to help. Each Battle-Tested Weapon has its own means of acquiring it, so it is necessary to know how to do so. We’ve collected all the most reliable methods for obtaining each weapon; simply take a look below!

Battle-Tested Blade

Octopath Traveler 2 Young Man

Completing Hikari’s Chapter 5 is required to acquire the Battle-Tested Blade. After doing so, visit Crackridge Harbor and locate an NPC named Bandelam the Reaper. After locating Bandelam, you can either purchase the weapon for 95,000 Leaves or Steal it using Throné’s ability.

Another way of getting the Battle-Tested Blade is to visit Tropu’hopu and locate the NPC known as Young Boy. Defeating him in combat rewards you with this weapon. Please note, there’s a 2% chance of obtaining it from him, so you may have to fight him multiple times.

Battle-Tested Spear

Octopath Traveler Fight Scene

Completing Hikari’s Chapter 5 is required to acquire the Battle-Tested Spear. After doing so, visit Ku in Hinoeuma to locate an NPC named Benkei. Interacting with him will grant access to a side quest titled “Mikka’s Next Chapter”; after finishing it, use your Path Action on Benkei to gain the Battle-Tested Spear.  You can have Throne Steal it, Osvald Mug it, or Partitio Purchase it for 95,000 Leaves.

Alternately, you can Challenge or Provoke the Townsperson standing near the entrance of Sai for a 2% chance of obtaining a Battle-Tested Spear.

Battle-Tested Dagger

Octopath Traveller 2 Monster

First, complete Castti’s story. Then, complete the side quest “Melia’s Next Chapter” to get the NPC Plukk to appear in the town of Winterbloom in the Winterlands. You can then Steal or Mug the Battle-Tested Dagger from Plukk.

However there is another way to acquire the Battle-Tested Dagger. Visit Clockbank in the Brightlands and enter the Tavern. You’ll need to interact with an Elderly Man there and Provoke him or Challenge him to a battle. (Provoke uses Ochette and Challenge uses Hikari.) Once you have his attention and he is ready for battle, defeat him to obtain the Battle-Tested Dagger. Please note— there’s a 2% chance of obtaining it from him, so you may have to fight him a few times.

Battle-Tested Axe

You can use Throne to Steal it away from him or Mug him with Osvald.

Additionally, the Battle-Tested Axe is available at Cape Cold in the Winterlands. Speak with the NPC Villager and Challenge or Provoke him into a fight. Defeat him if you wish to obtain the Battle-Tested Axe. However, the chance of getting the Axe from a fight is only 2%.
