How to Get the Sunshadow Staff in Octopath Traveler 2
To obtain the Sunshadow Staff, you must by locate its owner in Gravell in the northern Wildlands and defeat. Unfortunately, the Sunshadow Staff cannot be purchased or stolen. In order to gain access to this powerful weapon, your only option is to take part in the battle with its current owner. You will specifically have to use Temenos the Cleric for this battle.
Here is a step-by-step guide on how to obtain the Sunshadow Staff:
- Add Temenos to your party, and wait for the night to come or change the time to night.
- Head to Gravell and find a Boy with a bizarre item called “STuFfeD ToY” in his inventory. During the daytime, he hangs out in town, but at night he hangs out by a cliff to the left of Gravell proper. Once night falls, you will have to wait about two minutes for the Boy to reach your desired location.
- Upon encountering the boy, employ Temenos’ Path Action “Coerce.” This ability will transform him into a shadow creature.
- Next, fight the Shadow Boy. You do not have to defeat him, thankfully, but you do have to break his 15 shields. Luckily, he’s weak to Staff attacks, which Temenos can use. He’s also weak to Lightning, so making Temenos a Scholar is a great option for this fight. The Shadow Boy has an insta-kill attack, so you only have about four turns to do this!
- Upon breaking your opponent, you’ll notice a glowing blue object near the tree. Congratulation—you’ve got the Sunshadow Staff!
