Animal Crossing Toys Coming to Build-A-Bear

“Stuff your own toy” shop Build-a-Bear Workshop took to Twitter today to announce a collaboration with Nintendo’s popular island living simulator, Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Toys based on the island’s residents will be available for a limited time at Build-a-Bear Workshop locations. According to Twitter, this promotion will be happening in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

Unfortunately, the initial tweet was more of a “teaser” than a detailed announcement, and did not include much information. It only stated that the Animal Crossing collaboration event was “COMING SOON.”

The tweet did provide a link to sign up for ongoing e-mail or text updates with news regarding the collaboration.

It has not yet been confirmed which Animal Crossing villagers will be made into Build-a-Bear toys, but it is likely that we will see fan favorite Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter Isabelle as well as either Bell-loving landlord Tom Nook or his young nephews Timmy and Tommy, who run the main store on New Horizons’ island. Other options include a version of the “Villager” protagonist – also seen in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – or even individual villagers who score highly in popularity polls, such as Raymond the cat or Marshal the squirrel.

In the past, Build-a-Bear Workshop has collaborated with a number of pop culture sensations to create limited-edition dolls based on characters from How to Train Your Dragon, The Mandalorian, Pokemon, Sonic the Hedgehog and Super Mario Bros., as well as outfits from these series which can be worn by any Build-a-Bear creation. It is likely that the Animal Crossing: New Horizons collaboration will also feature themed outfits – perhaps some of those cute ensembles you can buy from the fashion-forward Able Sisters?

Which Animal Crossing: New Horizons characters and clothing would you like to see make an appearance at Build-a-Bear Workshop? Let us know!
