When Bayonetta came out earlier this year, players were surprised to find that in addition to the fast paced action stages, there was also a puzzle game chapter that could be unlocked by finding three special keys in the ginuugagap stages. As of tonight’s Game Awards, this level has been revealed as a teaser for a completely new game called Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon. While details about combat are sparse, it is known that the plot will involve a younger Bayonetta travelling into a forbidden forest with the demon cat Chesire – ally to Bayonetta 3’s new playable character Viola – in order to save her mother. The game also came with a release date, March 17th, 2023. Hopefully more interesting details will be forthcoming soon, but I am definitely going to be grabbing this one as soon as I can.
