Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Beta Live For Two Weekends

The Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta dates will span across two exclusive weekends. The date was previously reported in a leak, suggesting those who pre-ordered the PS4 digital edition would have early access to the beta from October 8.

It’s little surprise that this came true. So, what follows is a breakdown of what the studio will offer to players. We begin with the PS4-exclusive, opening weekend.

    • October 8: Early access for PS4 pre-orders.
    • October 10: Open beta access for PS4 players.
    • October 12: Black Ops Cold War beta weekend 1 concludes.

Cross-play will begin for the second weekend of the Cold War Beta.

    • October 15: PS4 open beta resumes, early access for Xbox and PC pre-orders.
    • October 17: Open beta access for all players on all platforms.
    • October 19: Black Ops Cold War beta weekend 2 concludes.

The details of the beta have yet to be announced by Activision. The developers may reveal more closer to the time, or make us wait until the respective day to find out for ourselves. Earlier this evening, the multiplayer mode for Black Ops Cold War was revealed.

The mode will include five new maps, including missions in the North Atlantic Ocean and Angolan Desert, and a handful of core game modes, among which include the return of Control, a popular mode revived from Black Ops 4, Team Deathmatch, Search & Destroy, Domination and Kill Confirmed.

Black Ops: Cold War features “a fully-connected Multiplayer experience with cross-play, cross-gen, and cross-progression support for the entire community.”

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is due for release on November 13, 2020.

Black Ops Cold War is set in 1981 and features iconic characters, including Woods and Mason. Black Ops Cold War serves as a direct sequel to 2010’s Black Ops but fills the gaps between the first and second games.
