Cyberpunk 2077’s Next Update Adds Self-Driving Cars And Taxis

We were all waiting to see more from Cyberpunk 2077 when it was revealed yesterday that we’d be getting a new REDstream event to showcase the upcoming patch 2.3 additions – and now it’s here! Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 releases tomorrow on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, and it adds some new features to make exploring Night City more exciting and immersive. Be sure to check out the full patch notes when available if you’ve got any lingering questions after reading on!

The main focus of this update is making the game feel more replayable and responding to fan requests, with particular emphasis on vehicles and world traversal. Autodrive is being added as a new functionality on all vehicles, allowing V to select a location on the map and then sit back and watch as you drive along the roads. You’ll have the option to enable a cinematic camera when in autodrive mode, to see your car driving from different, dynamic angles. If even that is still too much work, Delamain cabs can be unlocked after completing his quest which will then drop you off wherever you’d like to go.

Expanding on the last Cyberpunk 2077 update which focused on self-expression, car customization is being expanded to include more vehicles and brands, allowing players to change the colors of almost every vehicle in the game now with just a few exceptions. This includes making motorbikes customizable now too. More paint jobs are also added, along with new vehicles, some of which come with new quests to unlock them.

If you want to show off your newly customized cars or anything else in the world, you might want to try out the improved photo mode, with new options for lighting, precision controls for character posing, NPC outfits and more. As a reminder, Update 2.3 releases tomorrow, July 17, on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, with the Nintendo Switch 2 update coming within the next few days. Finally, Cyberpunk 2077 with its new update will also be available on Mac tomorrow.
