It’s the second anniversary of the much loved Dave the Diver, a fusion of ocean exploration, fishing and restaurant management that took the world by storm. As part of the anniversary celebration live stream, the team over at Mintrocket announced that a Nintendo Switch 2 upgrade will be coming that increases the frame rate on Nintendo’s next generation of hardware – and it’s free! No release date has been confirmed, but the developers did say it’s still a few months away.
That’s not all that was announced for Dave the Diver though. The special Godzilla collaboration DLC for Dave the Diver was made unavailable last year, as it was a time-limited crossover. However, the DLC has returned, available for free on all platforms starting right now. You don’t need to rush either, as the Godzilla DLC will remain available free to all players until the end of 2026. The same applies to the recently released Ichiban’s Holiday DLC, which was meant to become unavailable later this year due to licensing limitations.
The next DLC titled ‘In the Jungle‘ received a delay to next year, initially scheduled to release later this year. To make up for the new 2026 release year, Mintrocket gave a sneak peek of the new village where Dave will be exploring and making a new life with his friends in a luscious jungle. This allows Dave to find freshwater fish for the first time, thanks to the lake located in the village. The delay will be used to add more content, so at least our patience will get rewarded! We loved Dave the Diver in our review, so we’re looking forward to whatever comes next.
