Famitsu Sales: Mario Kart World Has Sold 1 Million Copies In Japan

Every Thursday we share the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan. This week’s chart covers June 16 – 22, as Mario Kart World crossed a major milestone. Thanks to an additional 120,000 sales this week, Mario Kart World has now sold over a million copies in Japan in just the few weeks since it launched with the Nintendo Switch 2.

One game is dominating the chart this week more than any other, which is the multi-platform release of Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army. The remaster of the classic RPG takes second place with its Switch release, third place with its PS5 release, and also secures spots #6 and #9 with its Switch 2 and PS4 release respectively – all for a combined total of over 51,000 sales. The Nintendo Switch 2 console also held steady in its third week sales, selling another 140,000 systems this week.
