Destiny: Rising is a new mobile game set in the Destiny universe, developed by NetEase but with support from Destiny developer Bungie. With both PvE and PvP modes and campaigns, there might just be something for every type of Destiny player, as you explore an alternate timeline Destiny in the Dark Age following the arrival of the Witness. It’s a fun premise, and if you’re interested, you could get yourself signed up to potentially test out the closed beta.
NetEase have confirmed that the Destiny: Rising closed beta test will begin on May 29, and will be exclusive to players on Google Play in the United States and Canada. That means it won’t be available to Apple App Store users, but you can pre-order the game for free on the App Store now. If you’re eligible and want to sign up, you need to pre-register on the Destiny: Rising website to have a chance to be selected. Note that there is no guaranteed entry, you’re just signing up for the opportunity, which will be distributed randomly. The more people pre-register globally, the more rewards all players will earn on the final launch.

There will be no embargo or restrictions on the Destiny: Rising closed beta test, so you’re encouraged to share your experiences in the game with others and don’t need to worry about keeping your thoughts quiet. There will be in-app purchases in the closed beta – but your progress won’t carry over to the launch of the game, so spend carefully. Destiny: Rising is set for an August 31 release date according to the App Store listing, so fret not if you can’t get into the closed beta, there’s only three more months to wait!
