Disney Dreamlight Valley Guide: How to Feed Critters Their Favorite Food

Disney Dreamlight Valley is filled with classic characters from the films you know and love. However, these Disney heroes and villains are not the only residents of the beautiful, magical Valley. Each of the Valley’s distinct biomes is home to one type of Critter, these are adorable animals that you can feed and befriend. Feeding Critters their favorite food each day is a great way to earn Dream Shards and Motifs you can use to decorate your clothing. If you feed a Critter its favorite food enough times, it may even join you as a Companion, following you around as you explore the Valley and complete daily tasks and quests.

This guide will cover where to find each type of Critter, how to approach and feed them, and what foods they enjoy the most. With the help of this guide, you will be able to feed and collect every type of Critter living in Dreamlight Valley. Soon, all of these adorable Critters will have become your Companions and joined you on your adventures!

How to Feed the Squirrels

Location: Plaza

Favorite Food: Peanuts (can be purchased from Remy’s Restaurant)

Behavior: Friendly. Squirrels will approach you directly and demand food. You do not need to do anything special to feed Squirrels.

How to Feed the Rabbits

Location: Peaceful Meadow

Favorite Food: Carrots (carrots and carrot seeds can be purchased from Goofy’s Stall in Peaceful Meadow)

Behavior: Playful. Rabbits want to be chased. You must chase after a rabbit and catch it three times before it will allow you to feed it.

How to Feed the Sea Turtles

DreamlightTurtle

Location: Dazzle Beach (costs 1000 Dreamlight to unlock)

Favorite Food: Seaweed (can be fished from the ocean or foraged from Dazzle Beach)

Behavior: Shy. Sea Turtles will hide inside their shells when you first approach them. Simply wait patiently until the turtle comes out of its shell. Then, it will happily accept food.

How to Feed the Raccoons

CritterRaccoon

Location: Forest of Valor (costs 3000 Dreamlight to unlock)

Favorite Food: Blueberries (can be foraged in the Forest of Valor or on Dazzle Beach)

Behavior: Wary. Raccoons will run away if you approach them while they are looking directly at you. Wait until the raccoon is looking down, and then approach slowly. You will know it is ready to be fed when it drops down onto all four paws.

How to Feed the Crocodiles

CritterCrocodile

Location: Glade of Trust (costs 5000 Dreamlight to unlock)

Favorite Food: Lobster (can be fished from golden bubbles in the Glade of Trust)

Behavior: Wary. Much like Raccoons, Crocodiles will run away if you approach them while they are looking directly at you. Wait until the crocodile is looking down, and then approach slowly. You will know it is ready to be fed when it either rolls over or lays down on the ground.

How to Feed the Sunbirds

CritterSunbird

Location: Sunlit Plateau (costs 7000 Dreamlight to unlock)

Favorite Food: Houseleek Flowers (can be foraged in the Sunlit Plateau)

Behavior: Friendly. While Sunbirds do not approach you directly as frequently as Squirrels do, they do not run away when approached and are fairly easy to catch.

How to Feed the Foxes

CritterFox

Location: Frosted Heights (costs 10,000 Dreamlight to unlock)

Favorite Food: White Sturgeon (can be fished from golden bubbles in the Frosted Heights)

Behavior: Playful. Like Rabbits, Foxes want to be chased. You must chase after a fox and catch it between three and five times before it will allow you to feed it.

How to Feed the Ravens

CritterRaven

Location: Forgotten Lands (costs 15000 Dreamlight to unlock)

Favorite Food: Any 5-star Cooked Food

Behavior: Shy. Ravens will fly in circles around you several times. Once they stop circling and fly lower, you can approach them and feed them.
