EA Confirms Battlefield 6 Will Receive An Open Beta

The upcoming Battlefield 6 has been something of an open secret for a while now. For the last few months, EA has been working on Battlefield Labs, an “ambitious community collaboration” in which players work with developers to feedback what they like in their Battlefield games, with the option to test out new mechanics and ideas. It’s been inevitable that this would lead to a Battlefield 6, but now for the first time, EA just acknowledged it publicly.

In a new post on X (formerly Twitter), the official Battlefield account just confirmed out of the blue that in an upcoming Open Beta, players will be able to choose between two playlists, one in which Signature Weapons are locked to class and another where they aren’t. This is surprising, as no open beta for any Battlefield game has been announced yet, but many leaks have been pointing in its direction. EA appears to have decided to just go all out and confirm what most thought, and let us know that a Battlefield open beta is coming.

Battlefield Labs has been an explosive testing ground, and now the Open Beta for Battlefield 6 is on the way.

Along with the tweet, content creators have also been receiving packages from EA with Battlefield 6 printed on the cases – which we know thanks to an accidentally posted and now deleted image. It’s all but confirmed we’ll be seeing the game soon, and trying it to thanks to the open beta. As Kevin Johnson, the global community manager of Battlefield said online, the collaborative spirit between players and the teams behind Battlefield seems to be a huge focus for making the game a good experience this time around. We’re curious to try this mysterious open beta as soon as it appears.
