Every Thursday we share the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan. This week’s chart covers Aug. 5 – 18, as a double week special has been released by Famitsu due to their absence last week with a holiday! For this two week period, Power Pros 2024-2025 has yet again taken first place, with total game sales now having crossed 250,000 units thanks to 32,000 more sales in the past two weeks.
In second place for the two week period comes Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the evergreen Nintendo Switch title that never knows when to slow down. It sold over 30,000 copies across the two weeks, and is rapidly approaching 6 million units sold. There was a game debut this week too, with #4 going to That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime: ISEKAI Chronicles, an action RPG game based on a currently airing anime. Based on the title alone, I’m interested!
