Every Thursday we share the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan. This week’s chart covers April 14 – 20, as visual novel dating simulation Over Requiemz makes a surprise appearance at #1, selling over 7,000 physical units on Nintendo Switch. Loosely based on The Wizard of Oz, the visual novel has a dark-light theming to its potential partners, and proved popular this week in Japan.
Over Requiemz wasn’t the only new release to find a place in the top ten of the Famitsu sales chart this week though, as the Deluxe Edition physical copy of Hello Kitty: Island Adventure lands at #7 thanks to almost 4,000 units sold. This former mobile exclusive, now a full life sim game on Switch, is a popular choice amongst cosy gaming fans.
