Every Thursday we share the weekly Famitsu sales charts, which tracks physical boxed game sales and hardware sales in Japan. This week’s chart covers Dec. 2 – 8, as Super Mario Party Jamboree once again holds first place, thanks to an additional 73,000 copies sold – a 30% sales surge from last week. It’s an admirable feat, but I am going to run out of Super Mario Party Jamboree images to use in the featured image collage soon!
As impressive a sales rise that may for Super Mario Party Jamboree, an even bigger one occurred for the woefully understocked Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, which thanks to a resupply of physical Nintendo Switch stock managed to sell 58,000 more units this week. That’s a 91% leap up from last week! Hopefully Square Enix will learn from this experience and more adequately stock future hyped releases, especially a Dragon Quest game in Japan.
