Fortnite Battle Royale’s Fifth Birthday Brings Free Items

The celebration plans for Fortnite Battle Royale‘s fifth birthday have been announced, and it comes with free new items. Starting Sept. 23, players will be able to complete Birthday Quests to get a new birthday-themed goodies. The event will end on Sept. 27, so there’s less than a week to earn your free items.

The Birthday Quests will require the use of the unvaulted birthday items, including birthday presents, balloons and cake. Completing these quests will reward you with an item, and completing them all will get you the full set. The trio of items you can earn are the Sparklecake Emoticon, Celebratory Slice Pickaxe and the Fuzzfetti Cake Back Bling. The cakes featured in the Pickaxe and Back Bling items are dripping with chrome-colored frosting, to match the theme of the season.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Paradise
Much like this year’s birthday cosmetics, the fourth season of Fortnite Chapter 3 is drenched in chrome.

The birthday celebrations don’t stop there, as Epic has announced the return of Fortography. Fortography is basically Fortnite photography, which is done by using the replay functionality to create interesting scenes and grab scrceenshots. The theme of this Fortography celebration is, naturally, birthdays.

Players can send in their best screenshots to celebrate the birthday of Fortnite, other players, or just share their favorite memories of the game. The best pictures will be shared on the Fortnite blog on Oct. 7. To submit your Fortography entries, use #FNBR5 on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook, or the Fortography flair on Fortnite Battle Royale‘s subreddit.
