Hacker manages to hack Mario Kart 8, bigger hacks to come soon

A hacker has recently been able to hack Mario Kart 8. Hacking a Wii U game has been previously unheard of, and if you played Mario Kart Wii, you probably are not happy about this development. However the hacker, who goes by “MrBean35000vr” on YouTube, does not seem interested in cheating. Instead, they plan to use their new hacking abilities to improve the game. “All of this may not look impressive, but it’s merely because we don’t even know where to start; we can do anything now, anything at all! Custom tracks, custom songs, you name it. We just have to decipher the RAM and work out how,” they say in the description of their video. Additionally, they had this to say about using hacks to cheat: “None of this is in any state to be released at present, and it’s unlikely that we ever will in the interest of preventing cheaters :P”, as well as saying, “Remember guys: We’re not going to be encouraging cheating with this and won’t let our work be used for it. Our goal is to make game mods; custom tracks, etc. Relax and enjoy what we come up with :)” in the comments. Unless someone else manages to figure out how to hack Mario Kart 8, players should be able to continue playing in a fair, hack-free environment, and even if the game is eventually hacked completely, it is likely that Nintendo will simply patch the game.
