HBO’s The Last Of Us: Bella Ramsey On Ellie’s Story For Season 2

Spoilers for The Last Of Us Part II within this story.

The Last Of Us on HBO has been a runaway hit as viewership weeks soared for three consecutive weeks, and the success has led to excitement among the cast with the renewal of a second season. Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie, has revealed what she’ll be most looking forward to from the next chapter of the series. The actress, also known for her role as Lyanna Mormont on Game of Thrones, appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, which can be viewed in the video below.

The Catherine Called Birdy actress expressed interest in the Ellie and Dina love story, a storyline from the The Last of Us Part II, after having watched an edited montage of their relationship online. Ramsey said she was keen on exploring “the complexity of her relationship with Joel and how that gets decidedly… more complex.”

“I’m looking forward to that, and the violence that ensues is thrilling in a way. To get to explore that in a really safe environment would be cool but I am nervous about it, too,” she continued. Ramsey admitted that she had been made privy of events from the The Last of Us Part II, including the iconic moment of Joel’s death.

“I know what happens in the second game, and I’m nervous about potentially being without Pedro for a while. That’s gonna be really sad,” she added. Previously, Ramsey said she had avoided playing the game in preparation for the role. During the podcast, she admitted she had started playing it soon after the series launch.
