Honkai Star Rail: How To Build Jing Yuan

Jing Yuan is one of the first limited-time five-star units introduced in Honkai Star Rail. Although he is not the strongest DPS character in the game, he can still pack a mean punch and destroy your enemies. For those who manage to get him, this handy guide can help you build Jin Yuan and release his full potential!

Honkai Star Rail Best Jing Yuan Build

Jing Yuan is an AoE DPS character who follows the Path of Erudition and has a Lightning element. Like many five-star units, you can only acquire him from the limited-time banner.

Jing Yuan’s Skill can deal damage to multiple enemies, and the Lightning-Lord can deal extra damage up to 10 times. He is great at applying Weakness Break on opponents vulnerable to Lightning, and here is his best build:

  • Light Cone: Before Dawn
  • Relics: The Ashblazing Grand Duke
    • Body: CRIT Rate
    • Feet: SPD
  • Planar Ornaments: Inert Salsotto
    • Sphere: Lightning DMG
    • Rope: ATK%
  • Trace Priority: Talent > Skill > Ultimate > Basic Attack
  • Eidolons: E4

Honkai Star Rail Jing Yuan Details

Before Dawn is the best Light Cone for Jing Yuan. Besides increasing his CRIT DMG, this item can also boost his Ultimate DMG. After he unleashes his Skill or Ultimate, Jing Yuan can gain Somnus Corpus, which can buff his follow-up attack DMG.

For Relic, you should equip The Ashblazing Grand Duke set. This equipment can increase his follow-up attack DMG and ATK. Every time the Lightning-Lord deals damage, Jing Yuan’s ATK can be temporarily increased by six percent, and this effect can stack eight times and last for three turns. However, it will be removed the next time he uses a follow-up attack.

Inert Salsotto is the best Planar Ornament for Jing Yuan because this gear can increase his CRIT Rate by eight percent. If Jing Yuan’s CRIT Rate reaches 50 percent or higher, his Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG gets an extra 15 percent buff

When upgrading his Traces, you should prioritize his Talent to increase the Lightning-Lord’s damage. His Skill and Ultimate should be your secondary priority, and his Basic Attack should be your last.

If you can grab his Eidolons, I recommend unlocking his E4, Spin, Stars Sieged. This Eidolon lets Jing Yuan regenerate two Energies for each hit performed by the Lightning-Lord.
