IO Interactive Partner With Warner Brothers Interactive for Hitman: Definitive Edition

2018 is a big year for IO Interactive. This year marks twenty since they first opened their doors and began putting out some huge games. Kane and Lynch, Mini Ninja, and, more importantly, Hitman. During this time they would be bought by Square Enix, though they eventually parted ways and took Hitman back with them. The series’ future has yet to be determined, and while no new game is coming yet, IO Interactive is gearing up to release the first season of 2016’s Hitman again, this time in a definitive edition.

Now on their own again, IO Interactive has revealed that they have partnered with Warner Brother Interactive to re-release Hitman on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on May 15. Whether this partnership extends to future releases is presently unclear but it is possible this could be the start of a future business relationship.

The re-release of Hitman will arrive exclusively in a retail boxset. This will include all episodes and locations from Season One, as well as all Game of the Year Edition content. It will include the Anniversary Outfit Bundle, which will be released as a standalone download sometime in the future.

Here’s a quick rundown of what Hitman: Definitive Edition has to offer:

Hitman Season One – Seven exotic locations from the first season, including Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Bangkok, Colorado and Hokkaido, along with the ICA Facility

Hitman Game of the Year Edition Content – Four missions from the Patient Zero Campaign, three themed Escalation Contracts that unlock three unique weapons, as well as the Clown Suit, Cowboy Suit and Raven Suit

Hitman Bonus Episode – Featuring 3 Bonus Missions in Sapienza and Marrakesh

Hitman: Blood Money Requiem Pack – Including the Requiem Suit, Pale Duck Explosive and ICA Chrome Pistol

Perhaps Hitman might see a better response this time, as it stands as a fine example of strategic and intelligent stealth gameplay.
