Job Listing Reveals Interesting New Details About EA’s Black Panther Game

Little is known about EA’s Black Panther title, and the studio behind the game, Cliffhanger Games, was rather tight-lipped until now. Thanks to a recent job listing, we have learned several interesting things about the upcoming title based on the Marvel comics of the same name, including that the game is very likely an open-world title and that player choices will have an impact on the world around you.

As for the job listing itself, the studio is looking for a Senior Sandbox Designer II. The studio already has a rather impressive roster of team members under its belt, such as talent from the likes of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, so they are most likely looking for someone with quite a bit of experience. As for what that experience may entail, the application is looking for someone with experience in creating sandbox elements that expand up narrative and gameplay elements.

The listing may have given us some insight as to what environments players will play through as the aforementioned sandbox elements will need to feature “urban crowds” and “wildlife” in what the listing has went on to describe as “a living, breathing game world.” Cliffhanger is also seemingly looking to add seamless transitions between mission and gameplay sections of the game. There certainly seems to be a lot riding on Cliffhanger’s superhero title, and hopefully we will learn more about it from them soon.

For those of you who were unaware, the upcoming Black Panther title was first revealed last year. Fans were initially a little skeptical about the title, especially with the disastrous launch of Marvel’s Avengers – but there seems to be plenty going on behind the scenes at Cliffhanger. As mentioned before, the project has plenty of talented individuals working on the project, including former PlayStation executive, Connie Booth, who is both overseeing the Black Panther and Iron Man games.
