The latest in the action-horror of the Killing Floor series was set for release later this month on March 25, but the developers over at Tripwire Interactive have not only announced a delay, but also a cancellation of pre-orders. Killing Floor 3 is now scheduled for an “undecided date” later this year, with the last minute nature of the delay resulting in the cancellation of preorders to “address many of the common issues players had during the beta”.
As mentioned above, a closed beta was held just a few weeks ago between February 20 – 24, with the feedback from players being pretty mixed. As such, the pre-orders will be cancelled immediately, with different specifications on how that works per storefront. For US-based PlayStation players for example they will be presented with the option to keep or cancel the pre-order, with cancel being chosen automatically if no reply is given. Those outside of the US though will face automatic cancellations. Globally, Xbox and Epic Games pre-orders will be automatically cancelled, whilst Steam ones must be done yourself through Steam support.
For in-person stores, Killing Floor 3 pre-orders will need to be cancelled directly through whoever you purchased the game from, and thus will have to follow their store procedures. It’s still possible to place new pre-orders after cancellations have taken place, but you will be agreeing to buy the game on its new unspecified date, which could be anywhere in 2025 or perhaps even further should Tripwire Interactive decide that time is needed.
