This year is the 30th anniversary of Kirby, and Nintendo just announced Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe to celebrate. Revealed in today’s Nintendo Direct, the game is a remake of 2011’s Kirby’s Return to Dream Land, originally on the Nintendo Wii. The remake is coming to Nintendo Switch on Feb. 24, 2023.
Kirby’s Return to Dream Land is a traditional Kirby platformer, with side-scrolling stages to complete using Kirby’s copy abilities. The game follows Kirby on his quest to collect energy spheres and spaceship parts scattered across planet Popstar, after the alien Malolor made an emergency crash landing.
Return to Dream Land also features support for up to four players with drop-in co-op, with the Deluxe remake adding the ability for all four players to be Kirby and use his copy abilities. The Deluxe remake will also feature new minigames to play with friends as you take a detour from the main story to have some fun.
