Lady Gaga To Feature In Fortnite Festival

Lady Gaga and Fortnite Festival fans can expect to see the musical superstar headline the upcoming second season of the popular game spin-off of Fortnite.

Lady Gaga teased the collaboration in a tweet that simply stated “*fortnite*”, while also quote-tweeting her own viral tweet from just over four years ago, asking “What’s fortnight”. The image attached to the tweet has the Fortnite Festival logo overlaid on what appears to be the symbol for her sixth studio album entitled “Chromatica“, from May 2020.

Tweets in response giddily proclaimed this a “full circle moment” for Lady Gaga and Fortnite. Others made light of the five years it took for her to fix her original typo.

Fortnite Festival launched in mid December 2023, alongside two other spin-offs of the original game: LEGO Fortnite, and Rocket Racing. The game is a rhythm-based experience, not unlike Guitar Hero and Rock Band before it, with two distinct modes: Fortnite Festival Main Stage and Fortnite Festival Jam Stage. The former features a licensed soundtrack for up to four players to play together through a range of difficulty levels.

Season 1 of Fortnite Festival featured The Weeknd and comes to a close on Feb 22, with Season 2 beginning immediately thereafter, as confirmed in Lady Gaga’s tweeted image.

Based on the workings of the first season, it is expected that the Season 2 Pass will have a variety of themed cosmetics in the premium track, while the Item Shop will have Lady Gaga as an Icon Skin for purchase. The free track of the Season 2 Pass will likely have a selection of her hits as well, with others available for purchase as Fortnite Festival Jam Tracks.
