Publisher 2K Games and developer Hanger 13 have today revealed a release date and more for their upcoming game Mafia III. Among the additional announcements includes a Collector’s, Deluxe, and Standard editions, a Season Pass, and a pre-order bonus.
2K president Christoph Hartmann and Hanger 13’s studio and creative director Hayden Blackman shared the news on the game stating:
“Mafia III continues 2K’s proud legacy of creating outstanding narrative experiences, and is poised to set a new standard for interactive storytelling,” said Christoph Hartmann. “With Hangar 13 at the helm, Haden Blackman and his team of talented developers are set to deliver a truly unforgettable experience this October.”
“Mafia III introduces a true open world, rich with its own criminal ecosystems to the franchise, while still upholding the strong narrative storytelling and immersive setting that the previous Mafia games are known for,” said Haden Blackman. “New Bordeaux in 1968 provides a unique and powerful backdrop for our hard-boiled story of crime, betrayal, loyalty and revenge.”
If you are looking to get yourself a copy of Mafia III you have three different purchase options including the standard, deluxe and limited. The Deluxe Edition will be priced at $79.99 and comes with the game’s Season Pass. The Collector’s Edition comes packed with physical and digital items including the Season Pass, the original game score on vinyl, a collectible art book, art prints, and more for $149.99. Finally, anyone who pre-orders the game will get the Family Kick-Back pre-order bonus, which includes three lieutenant-themed vehicle and weapons. While a season pass has been announced no word has been given on what will be included in it, I expect this will be revealed at a later date.
Mafia III will be heading to the Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 7th.
