Marvel Rivals Concurrent Steam Player Count Crosses Half A Million After Season 1 Release

Marvel Rivals may have only launched last month, but after its giant debut player count exploded we didn’t know just how much bigger it would get – until now! Yes, Marvel Rivals just had its highest concurrent player count ever on Steam (via SteamDB), as it crossed half a million concurrent players. Today marks the start of Season 1, which adds new heroes Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman from the Fantastic Four along with loads of new seasonal content.

The previous peak concurrent player count was 480,990 on Dec. 8, shortly after the game was released. Today saw over 500,000 players log in to Steam to play Marvel Rivals all at the same time – a number that’s still rising at time of writing, and a trend that’s safe to assume is similar across all platforms the game is available on. Marvel Rivals’ launch was massively successful, with over 20 million players registered to the game already, but it seems the new superstar of the hero shooter genre has only just gotten started with gamers.

Marvel Rivals Invisible Woman
Marvel Rivals player numbers are nothing short of fantastic.

Not only did this brand new seasonal update add two new heroes, but it also gave us an entire new storyline, with unlockable chapters and story scraps to expand on the lore of Dracula, Marvel Rivals first full seasonal villain. The update also comes with plenty of unlockable new cosmetics in the season pass. Whilst two members of the Fantastic Four were added in today’s update, Johnny Storm’s Human Torch and The Thing will join the other half of Marvel’s First Family later in a mid-season update.

Have you been playing the latest season of Marvel Rivals and adding to these massive player numbers? Which superhero do you hope gets added to the game next? Sound off in the comments below, and stay tuned to GameLuster for more breaking gaming news and Marvel Rivals coverage.
