Marvel Rivals Teases Jean Grey/Phoenix For Next Season

We’re a few days away from Marvel Rivals Season 2.5, a mid-season revamp that will see the addition of Ultron along with a lot of other new content. A section of the new lore coming in Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 has been shared by Miller Ross over on X (formerly Twitter), and it hints towards a potentially incredible force and new hero that has long been expected to be making their way to Marvel Rivals soon – Jean Grey, also known as the Phoenix.

The new lore entry states that Adam Warlock has sensed the “reemergence of the demiurge Knull”, a Marvel supervillain who created the symbiotes like Venom. Described as “one of the primal forces of the universe”, the heroes conclude that they’re going to need to recruit one of their own. This could be a few characters, but the most powerful Marvel hero that most would assume when hearing the phrase “primal force” is the one and only Jean Grey, the embodiment of the Phoenix. New heroes release every season, so if NetEase are hinting it now then there must be a reason, and Season 3 would be incredibly popular if it were promoted with Jean Grey/Phoenix.

Emma Frost Marvel Rivals reveal trailer
Emma Frost has been the star of the current Marvel Rivals season, and as an X-Men character she may be key to finding Jean Grey.

This isn’t actually the first time that Jean Grey has been alluded to this season, as her name explicitly appears hidden on a Marvel Rivals event page that was active earlier this season. There was also the earlier Marvel Rivals leak that happened shortly after the game launched where a lot of heroes in testing were leaked including Jean. With repeated mentions now of Jean Grey and the incredible might of her Phoenix Force, we won’t be surprised if she’s coming to Marvel Rivals next season – and we’re hoping for it too!
