Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Goes Gold

Ahead of its release next month, Insomniac Games has confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has gone gold. The studio announced the news via their Twitter channel on Wednesday afternoon, congratulating the development team for their contributions and efforts leading to the milestone.

“That means it’s that much closer to getting into your faces, and brains, and bodies” says Yuri Lowenthal, who provides the voice for Peter Parker. “Congratulations to everybody at Insomniac who put this together, and I guess now all we have left is for you to get the game and play it.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, the news is official, it has happened, the time is now, not bronze, not silver, but gold, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has gone gold baby!” Nadji Jeter (Miles Morales) says excitedly.

“I just want to say that I love you, and I’m so stoked for this game, and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it,” Laura Bailey (Mary-Jane Watson) added. To cap it off, Tony Todd makes a small, deliciously evil speech in the voice of Venom. “We are Venom, we are gold.”

For those unfamiliar with the jargon, “gone gold” typically refers to when first-party companies approve the game for publishing on their consoles. The main development stage of the game has been completed, which leads to the manufacturing stage.

However, the studio can still refine and add final, polished touches to the remake before October. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is scheduled to launch on the Playstation 5 on October 20, 2023, so mark it in your calendars.

Developed by Insomniac Games, the sequel will be published by Sony. Are you ready for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2? Share your thoughts with GameLuster in the comments below.
