Minecraft Announces Vibrant Visuals Update With A Jaw-Dropping Sneak Peek

It’s Minecraft LIVE weekend, as the iconic game from Mojang and Xbox gets a host of new updates and reveals. Perhaps the most considerable one is the beautiful new graphic upgrade mode ‘Vibrant Visuals’, that will be provided to players sometime “in the future”. Players of Bedrock Edition will be able to try a beta version sometime soon, but no dates have been specified.

The graphical upgrade provided by Vibrant Visuals is next-level, with some comparison screenshots being truly jaw-dropping. Volumetric fog, directional lighting and reflections bring the classic game to life in more ways than ever before, and without the use of mods. Vibrant Visuals changes absolutely nothing about the gameplay, and is purely a cosmetic upgrade to make the game feel more alive and realistic, whilst still maintaining its art style and not changing any of the art assets.

Night times are about to get more scary with Minecraft‘s Vibrant Visuals update.

A thrilling example given by Mojang in their announcement post specifies that mobs like spiders will look the same, but their red eyes will glow in the dark and feel more menacing than ever before. The studio aims to bring the graphical revamp to as many devices as possible, either in its entirety or in a limited state when restricted by hardware requirements, but as stated there is no release date provided yet. Eventually, there will be some kind of graphical upgrade available to all players using both Bedrock and Java Edition, but exactly when and how much that Vibrant Visuals can improve will depend on the game edition and the platform.
