Miyamoto says Nintendo will be sticking to dedicated gaming hardware for the long term

People are constantly telling Nintendo you need to move on and just start putting games on phones and just ditch consoles particularly with how the Wii U is going, however for those people Nintendo is definitely here to stay and stick with what they do best. Nintendo does best with consoles and its games are better becuae of the dedicated Console approach well at least that is my opinion on the matter.

Shigeru Miyamoto has stated that consoles are necessary for Nintendo’s future and they have no plans to move away form them in the foreseeable future. As part of an interview with Edge in relation to the need for hardware Miyamoto expressed, “A unique software experience can always be realized with unique hardware that has a unique interface.”

Here are Miyamoto’s full statements:

“As I said before, there are always people who really want to get deeply into a game. We want to create, and they want to experience, something unprecedented all the time. For us to meet these goals, we need dedicated hardware that is designed to cater to the needs of these avid gamers. People might say that software is software. No. A unique software experience can always be realized with unique hardware that has a unique interface. That is why I believe Nintendo is, and will be, sticking to these dedicated gaming machines.”

I don’t know about anyone else but I am glad Nintendo is going to stick with Game Consoles as they are better then mobile devices for gaming and Nintendo needs to stick with what they do best to keep many of us happy.
