Mouthwashing Hits PS5 and Consoles October 29

Mouthwashing, Wrong Organ’s PS1-inspired horror hit, launches on PlayStation 5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series and PC via the Microsoft Store on October 29, publisher Critical Reflex announced in a new trailer on October 20.

For PS5 owners, the release closes a wait that began in January 2025, when a PlayStation version was first announced. The game reportedly earned an 88 aggregate Metacritic rating from its PC launch, making it one of the best-rated indie horror games of 2024.

A dying crew in low-poly space

Mouthwashing follows the dying crew of a shipwrecked space freighter, rendered in a deliberately low-poly aesthetic that echoes the original PlayStation’s horror library. Wrong Organ developed the game and Critical Reflex published it; it originally launched on Steam on September 26, 2024. On PC it sold for 7.67 euros, though a console price has not been announced.

Physical copies of the console versions will be sold through Fangamer, a retailer that specializes in physical editions for indie games. The PC release has reportedly moved over 500,000 copies.

An October date with competition

October 29 is a busy corridor in the release calendar, and Mouthwashing’s console debut shares the date with several major titles. The announcement trailer arrived through the Critical Reflex Time showcase, confirming platforms that had been hinted at since early 2025.

Mouthwashing arrives on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series and PC via the Microsoft Store on October 29, 2026.
