Splatoon 2‘s next Splatfest has been announced.
Nintendo and Nickelodeon have teamed up for a special collaboration for the next Splatfest.
In the first ever tournament-style Splatfest, players will be determining which Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle is the most popular. Players will vote and compete over the course of three weekends in order to determine which Ninja Turtle is the crowd favorite. Players can head over to Inkopolis Square to cast their vote, and receive a special t-shirt featuring the Turtle that they choose.
“We love working with unexpected partners to expand our brand and bring smiles to people’s faces in surprising ways,” states Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Doug Bowser (via IGN). “Teaming up with Nickelodeon and Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles made perfect sense, as we share many of the same fans who enjoy family-friendly entertainment and classic characters.”
The first round of Splatoon 2‘s upcoming Splatfest will take place over the weekend of May 4, and will see Raphael go up against Leonardo. The second round will take place on the following weekend, starting May 11, and will pit Michelangelo against Donatello. The finalists will then face each other on the weekend of May 18 to see which Turtle is the best. Each Splatfest will run from 9:00 pm PST on that Friday until the same time that Saturday.
