Hello Games has announced that they will be bringing No Man’s Sky to the Xbox One later this year. The release will be nearly two years since its initial launch on the PlayStation 4 and PC.
In addition to the Xbox One release, Hello has also stated that they will be releasing their biggest update yet later in August, simply titled “Next.” According to Hello, the update is a direct response to player feedback, expounding more on the story elements released in previous updates.
“We called this update ‘Next’ because it’s an important next step on a longer journey for us and the community,” Sean Murray, co-founder of the studio, said to Polygon. “We’ve been working our socks off on this and it’s by far our biggest update so far. It will be free to existing players, and we’ll continue to support No Man’s Sky in this way for the foreseeable future.”
With the hype that was built for the initial No Man’s Sky release and the immense disappointment it became for gamers upon launch, Hello Games has had a rough time regaining respect from the video game world. Although previous updates have improved the game tremendously in the eyes of gamers, perhaps the “Next” update will bolster the game back to success.
