Jurassic World Evolution Gets a Summer Release Date

Frontier Development has announced a release date for Jurassic World Evolution. The digital version will be available to PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 players on June 12, with a physical copy for Xbox One and PS4 releasing July 3.

The ambitious dino park creator was announced last year at Gamescom, but it has really been ramping up the PR in the past few weeks. Frontier recently announced that the renowned Jeff Goldblum will be reprising his role as Dr. Ian Malcom and will be “with you the whole game.” Obviously, this has spiked the excitement meter for fans of 1993’s popular Jurassic Park movie, so it seems it was a good move for Frontier to get Goldblum on board.

Frontier Chief Creative Officer Jonny Watts stated during their first announcement of the game that “as long-time fans of the entire Jurassic series, we’re thrilled to be putting players in charge of their own Jurassic World. We’re excited to bring over 15 years of management, simulation, and creature development expertise to a destination and franchise that remains an inspiration to us.”

Frontier Developments has a good track record, having games like Planet Coaster and Elite Dangerous under their belt, so it would seem that Evolution is in good hands. As always, time will most certainly tell.

The game is now available for pre-order on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
