Like, zoinks, man, a fan petition on Change.org has reached a huge milestone, demanding the addition for Shaggy Rogers as a DLC character for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 11. As of the time of publication, the petition has exceeded its 150,000 signature goal, sitting at more than 160,000 supporters.
Creative Director of Netherrealm Ed Boon responded to a fan on Twitter demanding Shaggy in the MK roster.
Let me know how that works out for you… https://t.co/0da0D4GJte

Sadly, there was no official confirmation, but Boon at least admits he’s aware of what the fans want. After all, he did share a Shaggy fan art. Or maybe that was just Shaggy using 1 percent of his power to control Boon?

The petition was brought forward after the resurgence of a meme depicting Shaggy as the strongest creature in the universe, defeating the likes of other pop-culture figures such as Goku from Dragon Ball, All Might from My Hero Academia, and Saitama from One Punch Man, with just a fraction of his abilities.
The birth of the meme comes from a YouTube clip by user Midya, who juxtaposed a scene from Scooby-Doo! Legend of the Phantosaur, where Shaggy takes down a biker gang under hypnosis. However, the Ultra Instinct theme from Dragon Ball Super plays during the fight scene, with some added slow motion for effect. For those unaware, Ultra Instinct is an ability the protagonist of Super uses to increase his speed and strength.
Several fan arts and subreddits later, a new meme emerged where the cast of the 2002’s Scooby-Doo, the live-action movie, give a sit-down interview, speaking of Shaggy’s amazing abilities.

Fighting games are no strangers to cross-over fighters. Previously, Mortal Kombat added Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th series and Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Tekken is slated to add Negan from The Walking Dead, and Noctis from Final Fantasy XV is already one of the guest fighters.
Only time will tell if Shaggy will bring the pain to Mortal Kombat 11, but personally I feel that the game won’t even be able to hold his power.
Mortal Kombat 11 releases on April 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
