PS Plus Games For May 2021 Announced

The free PS Plus games for May 2021 have been announced. We begin with next-gen, and those with a PlayStation Plus subscription on the PS5 can claim their copy of Wreckfest.

Players can race “patched together cars” with up to 24 friends in an online multiplayer game, while “improving their looks and toughening up their body armour to survive the epic crashes and neck-to-neck fights over the finish line in competitive races.”

Developed by Bugbear Entertainment, the creative minds behind the FlatOut franchise, Wreckfest was initially released for PC on June 14, 2018, launching on consoles a year later on August 27, 2019. Courtesy of EA Dice, the second free title on PS Plus comes in the form of Battlefield V. Released in November 2018 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, Battlefield V returned the series to its World War 2 roots, described as “the richest, most immersive Battlefield yet.”

Battlefield V delivers a variety of multiplayer modes, one, in particular, being “Grand Operations”, an expansion of the “Operations” mode first seen in Battlefield 1. Elsewhere, there’s “Combined Arms”, a co-op mode last seen in Battlefield 3, and single-player “War Stories”, inspired by events from World War 2.

Last but not least, we move onto the third free title for PS Plus subscribers, Stranded Deep. Have you ever imagined yourself lost on a desert island with no means to call for help, no supplies, weapons, or shelter?

No, me neither, but we’re up to the challenge if it’s set within a procedurally generated world. Stranded Deep, developed and published by Beam Team Games, an Australian studio, pitches players on a desert island in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean following a plane crash. Serious Lost vibes spring to mind.

“Stay sharp: hunger, thirst, and exposure conspire against you as you brave treacherous elements and the dangerous creatures of the Pacific.” the game’s description reads. These titles will be available on PS Plus from May 4 until May 31.The free PS Plus titles for April, Oddworld: SoulstormDays Gone, and Zombie Army 4: Dead War will be available until Monday, May 3.
