PS1 Inspired Horror Anthology The Fridge is Red Reveals Itself With Playable Demo

The Fridge is Red is an upcoming first-person horror anthology, that is “reminiscent of old school PlayStation games” in the way that it takes inspiration from horror classics in its visual presentation. The game was revealed during the Guerrilla Collective Digital Showcase by developer 5WORD Team and publisher tinyBuild. Alongside the announcement trailer, we also received the information that a demo is out right now on Steam.

Check out the trailer below!

The game is a continuation and broadening of the team’s Epic MegaJam entry DO NOT TAKE YOUR EYES AWAY FROM THE RED FRIDGE, in which a father sits in his basement staring at the titular red fridge. Surrounding him are trinkets from his missing daughter and notes she wrote about the red fridge. Every time the player looks away, the red fridge inches closer towards them. With the clues surrounding Frank and the imminent threat in front of him, the player now has to figure out what happened to his daughter and how they can get out of the situation safely.

But that’s just one of the stories you will be able to experience in The Fridge is Red. The game is a collection of various tales, all of which surround the mysterious red refrigerator and the poor souls that have come in contact with it. You’ll visit a variety of locations, such as an office building with an elevator that won’t cooperate, a church surrounded by a graveyard covered in snow, a hospital hall where gravity isn’t quite behaving as it should, and more.

If you’re curious you can download the demo on Steam right now, while you wait for the full game to release later this year. The Fridge is Red will be available exclusively on PC.

Sticking with upcoming horror releases, a new trailer for sci-fi horror, ROUTINE was revealed at Summer Game Fest 2022.
