The Steel-type Pokemon Registeel is available now in Pokemon GO.
Niantic has announced that Registeel is now available in Pokemon GO through the game’s Raid Battles. The Pokemon will be taking over for Regice, who was available through raids this past month. Registeel will feature high defense, but will be weak against Fire, Fighting, and Ground-types. Registeel will be available in Pokemon GO until August 16th, at which point it will likely be replaced by the last Regi, Regirock.
Registeel is the seventh legendary creature to appear from the third generation of the Pokemon games in Pokemon GO. Registeel follows Regice, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Latios and Latias. The only missing legendary/mythic Pokemon from the third generation are Deoxys and Jirachi.
Additionally, to celebrate the two-year anniversary of Pokemon GO, Pikachu and Pichu appearance rates have been boosted until July 31st. During the month of July, a special “summer style” Pikachu will show up in the wild. This special electric mouse will sport a straw hat and sunglasses. Additionally, those who have a gold Pikachu Fan medal will be able to purchase special items for their avatar. This includes a special t-shirt and Pikachu ears.
