PlayStation Play At Home Program is Offering 10 Free Indie & VR Games

The PlayStation Blog’s all-day celebration of both beloved indie titles and upcoming gems you might not have heard of included a pretty exciting announcement: not one, not two, but ten titles will be offered for free in March and April via the “Play at Home” initiative. The Play at Home program encourages gamers to stay at home and enjoy games on their PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles while staying safe and slowing the spread of COVID-19.

Beginning on March 25, a number of indie and PlayStation VR games will be available for free download via the Play at Home program. These games can be redeemed and downloaded at any point between March 25 and April 22, 2021, so grab them while they last!

The nine free games being offered in March and April are:

  • Abzu
  • Enter the Gungeon
  • Rez Infinite
  • Subnautica
  • The Witness
  • Astro Bot Rescue Mission
  • Moss
  • Thumper
  • Paper Beast

Astro Bot, Moss, Thumper, and Paper Beast require PlayStation Virtual Reality setup in order to play them. This includes both the PlayStation VR Headset and PlayStation VR Camera, as well as the Camera Adaptor for PS5 console owners. In addition, Moss and PaperBeast specifically require DualShock 4 wireless controllers.

Finally, a tenth game, the widely popular open world adventure Horizon Zero Dawn, will be available for free download in April. You can redeem a free copy of Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition any time between April 19 and May 15. If you want to play the first Horizon title before its sequel Horizon Forbidden West launches for next-generation consoles, this is definitely the time to do so.

Customers in countries supported by the Funimation or Wakamin anime streaming service can also redeem an extended free trial between March 25 and April 22.

Which of these free indie and VR favorites are you most excited to download? Let us know!
