Earlier today, an interesting studio has launched under the name of Squanchtendo. The creator, Justin Roiland (also creator of Rick & Morty), is teaming up with a former Epic Games Producer, Tanya Watson. The name is quite interesting considering it’s named after an alien race in Rick & Morty that replaces “squanch” with most words. According to Squanchtendo‘s mission, Roiland has been thinking of creating this company for a sometime now.
Once Roiland and Watson smushed their brains together, they decided on creating Squanchtendo. Watson does have a pretty great portfolio, though, with 10 years experience, and work including Fortnite, Gears of War (1-3), Unreal Tournament 3 and Bulletstorm. “We just want to make super duper games dooood,” Justin Roiland says on the about section found on their website.
“We want to make stuff that people love. Games that we want to play ourselves,” the two say. “Experiences that we would like to be totally immersed in and enjoy for house at a time, as well as shorter, crazier experiences that would be great to play with a group of friends or possibly with stray homeless people that you invited in so you could feed and bathe them.”
