Super Mario Maker amiibo to come in Modern and Classic color variants

Nintendo has revealed that there will be a special amiibo released to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Mario. The amiibo will be usable with Super Mario Maker, and will give you access to a special mushroom that makes you very big when the amiibo is scanned. The amiibo will come in two colored variants: Modern Color and Classic Color. It is currently unknown if they will function differently, but going off of previous amiibo variations, they should function exactly the same. The Mario amiibo will launch on September 11th with Super Mario Maker.
