The ever-watchful eye of Shodan is hard to avoid. In the System Shock remake, the developers did an amazing job of making sure that not only do you always feel like you’re being watched, but that you feel like there’s no way to ever escape. The tight cramped hallways leave no room for you and the nasty denizens to co-exist and the security cameras are always present and watching you demolish enemies, raising the Security level.
Shodan runs a tight ship and she is always looking for ways to make sure that you aren’t successful in taking her down. One of the ways to distract her and make the game a bit easier for you is by lowering the security level. In this guide, we will go over what the security level is and how to manage it better.
What is The Security Level
Each floor has a specific security number assigned to it, denoted by a percentage from 0 – 100. The number can always be seen on the top left of your screen and each floor has its percentage.
If a level has a high security level you can expect there to be certain doors and exits locked away to keep the denizens inside safe! There’s also a need to have the security levels below for the end game as well, but that’s further down the line of course.
How to Lower The Security Level
To get the Security Level lowered you can do two things. The first one is going to be by destroying cameras found littered around the space station. They are usually found in the corners and can be seen on the map as well, denoted by an orange eye.
The second method is by destroying CPU nodes on the floors. They are going to be in areas that are hard to access and locked behind some very very difficult puzzles.
