The KFConsole Is Real – And Keeps Your Chicken Warm

Popular fast food joint Kentucky Fried Chicken has been teasing the existence of a chicken-themed “KFConsole” for months. What was once suspected to be a joke referencing the next generation PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S consoles has recently been revealed to be a very real product. While it’s more like a small PC than a console, the “KFConsole” is very much in development and will be able to play the latest and greatest games.

Developed and built by Cooler Master, the KFConsole features a custom-built chassis, an Intel Nuc 9 Extreme computing element, a high-end graphics card in a swappable GPU slot, and two Seagate Barracuda/Firecuda 1TB SSD. It supports VR, ray tracing, and 4K-quality gaming, meaning it will be able to play high-end games with speed and high graphical quality. It’s currently speculated to be digital-only, as the revealed specs do not include a disc drive.

The most unique feature of the KFConsole is the “Chicken Chamber,” which will use the natural heat generated by the console’s performance to keep chicken warm and crispy. Currently, console and PC enthusiasts speculate that the “chicken chamber” will be used to keep the powerful system cool while active and prevent it from running hot. If that’s the case, it is possible that the console will not be able to function properly without keeping the chamber heated.

Currently, while the KFConsole does have an official website describing its features in detail, no release date or price has been revealed. However, it is currently speculated that the console could cost several hundred dollars – or even well over a thousand, given the price of the tech KFC claims to have used to create the console. It is also believed that it will be a limited run product, so KFC enthusiasts will have to act quickly if they want to purchase a console while it is available.

This isn’t KFC’s first outing into the gaming market. Last year, the fast food outlet released a dating sim titled I Love You, Colonel Sanders!, and is available on Steam
