The Witcher 3 Free On PC For Console Users Until June 23

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available for free on PC now for anyone who owns the game on a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. The offer still applies if you already own the game on PC via Steam, Origin, or the Epic Games Store. The deal transfers over any in-game progress made on the console version, so you can continue from where you left off.

The offer is out now, and is only valid until June 23, concluding at 7AM ET. There are, however, a few important things to consider with this offer. You’ll need to make sure to download the latest version of GOG Galaxy client, which can be done here.If you’re not up to date with the latest version, then the client will need to be updated.

From there, you will need to head into Settings > Add games & friends > Connect platforms. At this point, you’ll need to connect your Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, Steam, Origin, and/or Epic Games account to search for where The Witcher 3 has been installed. Click on the game and an option will allow you to grab your free copy. The deal will not apply, however, for the Switch version of The Witcher 3. This is due to a lack of “Nintendo Switch integration”, according to GOG.

As well as transferring save data, the version of the free game received in this offer will also be the same as the one you own, meaning if you own the base game, then the free copy on PC will be the base game.

From the wide variety of mods, to the visual improvements of the PC version, this deal could give Witcher fans a reason to return to the game.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Check out the GOG FAQ page for the full details of this offer.
