Uncharted Film Set Photos Of Nathan Drake & Sully Released

Photos from the Berlin set of the upcoming Uncharted movie have been posted to social media. Alongside Tom Holland, who takes on the lead role as treasure-hunter and adventurer Nathan Drake, Mark Wahlberg is seen for the first time as Sully.

These photos, as seen below, may leave some fans disappointed, as Sully is without his signature mustache and graying hair. Instead, the photos suggest a much younger version of the character, potentially in connection to a backstory seen at the beginning of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception

That being said, the photo sets do appear familiar to a heist sequence from Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, in a chapter, called “Once A Thief.” From the suits, bow ties, fancy cars, and a smattering of party guests in the background, this would suggest a connection to the game’s most recent installment.

Yesterday, Holland posted a live broadcast on Instagram. At around the one minute mark, he was asked how filming was going. “Filming is going so well,” the Spider-Man actor responded. “The film is like, everything I dreamed it would be. I mean, I don’t know if you guys played the games, but I was such a huge fan of the game, and it’s been going so well.”

Back in March, the Uncharted film adaptation was forced to delay production due to COVID-19. As well as Holland and Wahleberg, the film will also star Antonio Banderas in an undisclosed role, Tati Gabrielle, and Sophia Allen. The adaptation is to be written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, the creative minds behind Iron ManTransformers: The Last Knight, and Men In Black: International.

The Uncharted film adaptation has a long and messy history, with news on the project dating all the way back to 2012With fingers tightly crossed, the untitled Uncharted film adaptation is due to arrive in cinemas on July 16, 2021, barring any further coronavirus-related delays.
