Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom: How To Find The White Stallion

As with Breath of the Wild, and a fair share of other The Legend of Zelda titles before it, horses play a critical role in getting around Hyrule. There’s no shortage of steeds to find in Tears of the Kingdom, and you have plenty of stables to board them. There’s even a Pony Points system with rewards like special bridles and extra slots to board additional horses.

But if you’re the kind of adventurer who wants to stand out above the rest, then you’re probably looking for the fabled white stallion to add to your collection. This horse is massive, and riding it around makes Link look cartoonishly small by comparison. However, as far as horse wrangling goes, this absolute unit is more bark than bite, and shouldn’t be too tough of a job to catch. In any case, if you want to ensure a quick and easy catch with minimal disruption, read on – this guide has all the tips you need!

Where To Find The White Stallion

You’d be smiling too if you just caught a horse the size of a small city.

Before setting off, make sure to bring some gear or elixirs to up your sneaking ability, and any food that restores stamina. Soothing this massive horse takes up almost two full stamina rings, so come prepared.

Your search for this thicc boi starts in the Faron region of Hyrule, at Highland Stable. From there you’ll want to head south towards the Lake of the Horse God. As you cross the Horse God Bridge, you will happen across two travelers on the side of the road who are arguing about something. If you stop to chat with them, they will tell you about the legend of the white stallion, as well as that of the legendary Horse God, who seems to have departed this region.

Catching The White Stallion: Tips And Tricks

If you walk a bit further up the road from where the adventurers are standing, you’ll see the road dead end into a cliff face. You should see the big white stallion grazing in the clearing. Drink your sneaking elixir or meal, put on your stealth gear, and make your way towards the horse until you are close to his backside. You will need to get VERY close to be able to mount him, so patience is key. Once you’ve managed to climb aboard, spam that L button to soothe him quickly. Keep an eye on your stamina and you should be able to tame him easily!

As you head back towards Highland Stable, make sure you talk to the two adventurers while on top of the stallion to trigger some additional dialogue and clues about how to find the Horse God (if that’s next on your list of side quests). You can then register the stallion at the stable as you would any other horse.

Yes, I named my horse Pony Hawk. I can’t resist my nature.

A few things to keep in mind: the stallion is certainly huge and looks amazing, but has no stamina, and therefore cannot gallop like other horses. He also cannot be customized with different hair styles or bridles/saddles due to his size, nor can he be hooked up to the hitch to tow wagons. That being said, if you’re just keen to have a big boi to ride around and impress the locals with, then congratulations, you’ve got yourself a fine steed!
